El Pasado Simple

EL PASADO SIMPLE (Simple Past)
El pasado simple funciona de manera similar al Presente simple, salvo que empleamos el auxiliar 'did' para todas las personas (incluida la tercera persona singular 'he/she/it'). En la forma afirmativa, el auxiliar 'did' no aparece, empleando en su lugar la terminación 'ed'. Esta es la forma de pasado para todos los 'Verbos Regulares'
Existe un amplio conjunto de verbos que no cumplen esta condición, es decir, para la forma afirmativa no emplean la terminación 'ed' sino que su forma es irregular. No siguen ninguna regla, por lo que la única manera de conocer su forma de pasado es aprenderla. Se denominan 'Verbos Irregulares'.

USO DEL PASADO SIMPLE
a.) Para acciones pasadas. Indican el período de tiempo durante el que se desarrolló y completó una acción ya finalizada. Es habitual que vaya acompañado de un adverbio de tiempo.
I bought this car last year / Compré este coche el año pasado
b.) Para expresar una acción indeterminada en el pasado:
They used pencils and paper / Utilizaron lápices y papel
c.) Para expresar una acción habitual en el pasado
They never drank alcohol / Nunca bebían alcohol
d.) Puede servir para expresar una condición improbable.
If I saw her, I should speak to her / Si le viera le hablaría

Contraste Presente Simple - Presente Continuo

Repaso del Presente simple con el Presente Continuo. Además tenéis actividades de autocorrección que os servirá para afianzar esta materia.

RESENTE SIMPLE.
Se usa cuando queremos expresar acciones o hechos que ocurren en presente.

Por ejemplo: Yo como patatas. El viaja a Japón. Nosotros leemos un libro,...

Su estructura es la siguiente:

* AFIRMATIVA: SUJETO + VERBO EN PRESENTE + COMPLEMENTOS.
OJO: CON EL SUJETO "SHE", "HE", "IT" EL VERBO ACABA EN "S", "ES" o "IES"
EXAMPLE: I play football.
She eats pizza.
We drink orange juice.
* NEGATIVA: SUJETO + DON´T / DOESN´T + VERBO EN PRESENTE + COMPLEMENTOS
OJO: CON LOS SUJETOS "HE", "SHE"," IT" SE USA DOESN´T Y YA NO LE PONEMOS LA "S" AL VERBO.
EXAMPLE. I don´t play football.
She doesn´t eat pizza.
We don´t drink orange juice.

 * INTERROGATIVA: DO/DOES + SUJETO + VERBO EN PRESENTE + COMPLEMENTOS ?
OJO: CON LOS SUJETOS "HE ", "SHE", "IT" SE USA DOES Y YA NO LE PONEMOS LA "S" AL VERBO.
EXAMPLE: Do you play football? Yes, I am / No, I am not
Does she eat pizza? Yes, she does / No, she doesn´t
Do you drink orange juice ? Yes, you do / No, you don´t.


PRESENTE CONTINUO
Se usa cuando queremos expresar que estamos realizando una acciones en ese mismo momento en el que estamos hablando.
Por ejemplo: Yo estoy escribiendo un libro. Ella esta jugando al tennis. Ellos estan escuchando musica.
* AFIRMATIVA: SUJETO + AM/IS/ARE ( Dependiendo del sujeto) + VERBO EN PRESENTE ACABADO EN -ING + COMPLEMENTOS.

EXAMPLE: I am playing tennis.
She is drinking a glass of wine.
They are studying English.
* NEGATIVA: SUJETO + AM NOT / IS NOT (ISN´T) / ARE NOT ( AREN´T) + VERBO EN PRESENTE ACABADO EN - ING + COMPLEMENTOS
EXAMPLE: I am not playing tennis.
She isn´t drinking a glass of wine.
They aren´t studying English.
* INTERROGATIVA: AM /IS/ ARE + SUJETO + VERBO ACABADO EN -ING + COMPLEMENTOS ?
EXAMPLE: Are you playing tennis? Yes, I am / No, I am not.
Is she drinking a glass of wine? Yes, She is / No, She isn´t.
Are they studying English? Yes, They are / No, they aren´t.
